COROMON

Have you been looking for a modern monster-capture game with retro pixel art, challenging puzzles, and multi-stage boss fights?

Coromon is being created by Jochem Pouwels and Marcel van der Made, Two Ridiculously Ambitious Guys who make up the Netherlands-based TRAGsoft development team. These two friends, along with music composer Davi Vasc, have been working on Coromon since 2014.

Influenced by the monster-capture genre but forging its own path.

Upon waking up in the world of Coromon, players have the option to customize their in-game personas, which is a pleasant surprise in this game genre. Your adventure begins when you set off for your first day as a field researcher for Lux Solis, an organization with the goal of researching Coromon, developing technology, and providing power to the world of Velua. There you will meet other researchers and their creations, obtain your training gauntlet, and receive a starter monster.

A few of the updated features that Coromon possesses are the gauntlet, several modes, and alternative art palettes. Instead of forcing a Coromon to learn specific moves to progress throughout the world, the gauntlet will serve that purpose. The gauntlet will impact the main story, solve puzzles, prevent wild encounters in grass, and much more. Think the turn-based monster duels are too easy? In Coromon, there are four different difficulties with their own rules, as well as a randomizer. While most monster-capture games have the standard color palette and one alternative color palette, Coromon has two color palettes in addition to the standard palette. These palettes determine the Coromons' potential: standard, potent, and perfect.

Challenging the epic boss fights on insane mode is something I’m yearning for.

Coromon will be available for purchase on Android, iOS, and Steam during the summer of 2021. Those wishing to donate to the development of Coromon can do so through the donation page on their website. An in-depth demo is available for both PC and mobile devices. Progress in the demo will transfer into the full game. Follow Coromon's Twitter and join the Coromon Discord server for the latest updates.
