Everett, WA reached peak geek mode once again as GeekFest West returned for its second annual celebration! Hosted at the Angel of the Winds Arena, this three-day festival delivered an action-packed weekend of all things nerdy—from video games and comics to idol performances, LARPing, wrestling, and beyond.
As we are a team proudly based in Everett, we were beyond excited to see GeekFest West level up in its sophomore year. Organized by Everything Geek’s Nathan Munn with tournaments sponsored by Next Level Games, this year’s event featured nearly four times as many indie games as last year — including 22 from Seattle Indies alone, offering something for every kind of gamer.
With indoor and outdoor activities, panels, and even a Game Raven Review unofficial gaming lounge event, GeekFest West proved it’s quickly becoming a Pacific Northwest staple. Dive into everything we discovered and loved at this year's con—trust us, you don’t want to miss it.
Seattle Indies is a nonprofit organization based in Seattle, WA, and serves as the heart of one of the largest indie game development communities in the country. The group is made up of professionals, hobbyists, students, and anyone else who shares a passion for making games. Whether you're deeply involved in development or just starting to explore what it means to build a game, Seattle Indies offers a welcoming space to grow and connect. It doesn’t matter if you’ve released multiple titles or are figuring out Unity for the first time—Seattle Indies is built to help you find your footing.
Their mission is centered on building an inclusive and accessible community where people from diverse backgrounds can come together to learn, collaborate, and showcase their work. From casual meetups to hands-on game jams, expos, and panel discussions, Seattle Indies offers developers opportunities to hone their skills and expand their networks in an environment that fosters creativity and support.
This year, they came back to GeekFest West with a bang, showing off 22 games compared to last year’s 6. While we didn’t have time to dive into every single title, we had a blast exploring their space. We were able to interview some excellent developers from the Seattle Indies showcase, including Creep Tank, Keys of Fury, Creature Kitchen, Unstable Scientific, Broom Sweeper, and Space Base. Alongside these top titles, Seattle Indies offered so much more, and we encourage you to check out these honorable mentions as well. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
